Islamabad: The directorate general immigration and passport has said that the name former dictator president Pervez Musharraf has been put on Exit Control List (ECL).
The directorate has put the former military ruler’s name on the ECL over the orders of the Sindh High Court (SHC).
On March 29, the SHC granted a 21-day extension to Musharraf in the Benazir Bhutto assassination and Nawab Akbar Bugti case. The court also ordered the authorities to retrain Musharraf from leaving the country.
Musharraf, the president of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), has only been allowed to contest the coming polls from one constituency out four.
Earlier today (Monday), the country’s Supreme Court also ordered the secretary interior to put Musharraf’s name on the ECL.
