Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday stayed the contract given to a US firm for the provision of lamination paper to the Passport and Immigration (P&I) department.
A French firm had moved the IHC against the allotment, saying rules were followed the issue.
The counsel of the French company prayed the court that their quality was better than the US firm.
On February 25, the National Accountability Bureau had barred the Directorate General of Immigration and Passport from continuing an international contract for the import of lamination paper used in passport books.
However, the interior ministry awarded on March 27 the tender to the US firm for the provision of lamination paper to the Passport and Immigration (P&I) department.
