Islamabad: A local court has ordered issuance of arrest warrants of Amir Yar Waran, candidate of Pakistan People’s Party on NA184, here on Wednesday (today).
The verdict was given by a Sessions Court of Bahawalpur.
On the other hand, directives were given to apprehend the Controller and Registrar of Sindh Univesity after they didn’t appear before the court today.
Former member Punjab Assembly Mir Badshah appeared in the court to defend himself on the accusation of holding fake degree.
24 former MNAs issued notices
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan has issued notices to 24 former members of National Assembly and asked them to ensure their presence before the commission on April 5.
It said that the order has been issued in light of the order of Supreme Court of Pakistan regarding fake degree case.
The former MNAs include Umer Ggoraij, Shumaila Rana, Samina Khawar, senator Gul Muhammad Laat, Dr Israr Hussain , Mukesh Kumar, Patambar Sewani, Shujaat Ahmed, Wasim Afzal Gondal, Seemal Kamran, Tariq Magsi, Amir Ali, Shah Ghulam Sarwar, Nadir Magsi, Rehana Yahya and Israrullah Zehri.
