Peshawar: The death toll in the Peshawar’s Muhammadi Grid Station attack has reached seven, with the workers of Wapda Hydro Union threatening to go on indefinite strike, here on Tuesday (today).
According to police, four workers are still missing while bodies of five have been found from the fields. Panicked on this situation, the workers have called a special meeting to decide on future strategy, while offices at Wapda House have been closed in protest.
Moreover, fire has reportedly erupted at the site, disconnecting power in the area.
Peshawar has been the center of terrorist activities in recent past and the elements seem be gaining control with the closing in of general elections in the country.
These circumstances call for dire nation to take immediate steps to restore law and order in the city.
Unidentified assailants had fired rockets at the 550KV grid station located in the Budha Beer area of the city, killing some workers instantly.
Power restored
Meanwhile, Wapda sources said they have restored power in the affected area through alternative sources.
