KARACHI: The foreign exhibitors have displayed their stete of the art machinery and equipment in the 11th Megatech 2013 – the international exhibition on textile technology commenced at Lahore Expo Centre.
Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Rector, National Textile University, (Under the auspices of Ministry of Textile ) inaugurated the mega event.
The opening ceremony was also graced by Mr. Mir Muhammad Farooq Meyer, Chairman North Zone, Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturer & Exporters Association, Mr. Rao Abdul Basit, Vice Chairman & Regional In charge, All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association and Haji Muhammad Akram, President, Embroiders of Pakistan.
The exhibition attracted over 94 companies from 17 countries including Austria, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Netherlands, Canada, Italy, Japan, India, Italy, Taiwan, Malaysia, Turkey, UK and USA. The event receives overwhelming response oftrade visitors from more than 15 textile cities who took keen interest in the state-of-the-art technologies displayed in the exhibition.
The world’s fastest digital printing technology for textiles was introduced for the first time in Pakistan by MS Printing Solutions (Italy) in MEGATECH 2013. The printing machinery captivated the trade visitors to understand the technology and its commercial viability for the value-added production to reach untapped export markets.
The 4th International Conference on Textile and Clothing (ICTC Conference) was also organized in conjunction with MEGATECH 2013 where local experts and international speakers discussed various opportunities and challenges of ‘Sustainable textile products and Textile Exports’. The conference is well attended by textile manufacturers and textile research and development students to gain insight about the future developments in the industry.
The exhibition will continue for next 2 days as many trade visitors has registered to attend the event from various textile cities of Pakistan.
