Karachi: Dr Fauzia Siddiqui, the sister of jailed Pakistani scientist Dr Aafia Siddiqui, has announced to contest elections against former President Pervez Musharraf on the Karachi seat.
Former army chief has expressed his willingness to contest elections from NA-250, a constituency comprising of Defence and Clifton areas of Karachi.
Earlier, Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Khushbakht Shujaat was elected member of national assembly from NA-250 in 2008 elections.
Although Pervez Musharraf has denied allegations of handing over Dr Aafia Siddiqui to United States but certain factors of the society believe that Aafia Siddiqui was arrested from Karachi and handed over to US by Musharraf administration.
Aafia has been jailed for 86 years in US prison over attacking US soldier in Bagram airbase.
