ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday ordered the Election Commission to take action against fake degree holders within two days.
An apex court bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing of fake degree implementation case.
During the hearing, ECP Secretary Ishtiaq Ahmed told the court that the commission had contacted the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for the verification of the degrees. “The HEC has held 69 degrees fake,” the secretary said.
The secretary requested the court for two days time to take action against the fake degree holders.
The court gave the ECP two days time to take action against the fake degree holders and also sought details of the fake degree cases in the lower courts.
