Mansehra: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief advised people of Pakistan to vote for Quaid-i-Azam instead of prime minister.
Referring to the atomic explosion Pakistan carried out during Nawaz’s tenure, he said that if PML-N was given power, Pakistan would see another huge explosion, but this time an economic one.
Kicking off the party’s election campaign from Mansehra, he said people should cast their vote wisely as every politician is trying to win the public sentiment by playing to the gallery.
He said he was deprived of the power two times and was not even allowed to complete two years in office. “Why was I sent to jail and forced into exile?” he complainingly asked the public gathering in the district of northwest province of Pakistan.
He claimed he never lied to public and never compromised on principles.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan, chief of the PML-N rival party Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), also made six promises to people, including he would never lie.
Nawaz said the determination and enthusiasm he saw in people of Mansehra was the same he witnessed when he visited the district some 14 years ago.
The PML-N chief said that the country’s state of affairs would have been different had he been allowed to complete his previous terms. He promised he would build a motorway from Karachi to Lahore if given power in the coming polls.
On the creation of new provinces, he said he supported the establishment of Hazara province, but added that formation of provinces alone was not the solution unless there was no change on ground.
He also vowed to build an airport in Mansehra if given power.
