Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Sunday selected Justice Mir Hazar Khan Khoso as caretaker prime minister of country.
Task of selecting the caretaker prime minister was assigned to the Election Commission after Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar and later an eight-member parliamentary committee failed in reaching a consensus.
The ECP selected the PM during meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ibrahim and attended by four other members including Justice (retd) Riaz Kiyani and Justice (retd) Fazlur Rehman, Justice (retd) Shahzad Akbar, and Justice (retd) Roshan Isani are also present in the meeting.
Mir Hazar Khan Khoso was born in Jaffarabad on September 1929, and did his graduation from the Sindh University. He was considered a competent lawyer and well-versed in different fields of law.
Mir Hazar Khan Khoso become judge of the Balochistan High Court (BHC) in 1977 and had served chief justice of the court from 1990 to 1991.
