Islamabad: Making change in the code of conduct for the second time, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday allowed speakers of the assemblies of the country to run election campaigns in their constituencies.
Previously, the speakers were not allowed to go in their constituencies with protocol.
Through a code of conduct it earlier announced for political parties and candidates, the commission had barred various public office-holders from taking part in the election campaign.
In a notification issued here on Thursday, the ECP allowed the speakers to run the election campaigns in their constituencies.
However, the speakers would not be allowed to enter the polling stations with protocol.
