Karachi: Former president and Chief of Army Staff General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf has filed an interim bail plea in Sindh High Court, two days ahead of his return to Pakistan.
Pervez Musharraf had announced earlier this month that he would return to Pakistan on March 24.
According to sources, Aila Raza, daughter of Pervez Musharraf, filed the interim bail plea on behalf of the former president who had remained on a self-imposed exile during the previous years and is presently in Dubai.
Three different petitions relating to Benazir assassination case, Akbar Bugti murder case and judges case have landed in Sindh Registrar’s office.
The former president has appointed Barrister Salman Safdar and AQ Halipota as his counsels.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court Bar Association Vice President Abdullah Khan Kakar is all set to file a petition before the Balochistan High Court for bail before arrival in the Akbar Bugti murder case within a week
Similarly, a team under the supervision of senior party member Ahmad Raza Kasuri, will file an application before the Lahore High Court to get bail before arrival for Musharraf in the Benazir Bhutto assassination case.
