Karachi: Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad on Tuesday dissolved the Sindh Assembly after an advice from Chief Minister Sindh Dr Qaim Ali Shah.
In more than 40 sessions of the assembly, during five year tenure, 302 sittings of the assembly were held. The assembly also approved 32 ordinaces during its tenure.
On Tuesday morning, Qaim Ali Shah sent the advice to dissolve the provincial assembly to Governor Dr Ishrat ul Ebad.
Earlier a consensus was reached between the Sindh government and opposition to appoint Justice (retd) Qurban Alvi as the caretaker chief minister of the province.
It is to be mentioned here that the provincial assembly has to expire on April 5, 2013.
On Tuesday, the Governor House of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa received the advice of dissolving the provincial assembly sent by Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti. Justice (retd) Tariq Pervez will take oath as caretaker chief minister on Wednesday at 5pm.
The Balochistan Assembly was dissolved on Monday.
