Karachi: At least three people have been killed and five others injured after a blast in Landhi Town area of Karachi, a metropolitan of Pakistan.
According to police, the blast targeted the cable operators’ office in Old Muzzaffarabad Colony area of Landhi, killing three people and injuring five others.
Sources confirmed that the cable operator, Imran, have also received threats from non-state actors for running a business, which they consider against the teachings of Islam.
CID Inspector Raja Umar Khattab told media that almost 2kg of explosives were used in the blast while ball bearings and other material was also used to increase the damage of the blast.
It was the first attack of its kind from the miscreants against cable operators, the CID Inspector added.
Meanwhile, a suspicious bag was also found from the spot but it was later cleared by the bomb disposal squad.
The bodies and injured have been shifted to a local hospital in the city while police and Rangers have cordoned-off the area and started collecting evidences from the spot.
