Islamabad: Pakistan’s federal government has proposed three names for the interim prime minister before the general elections, the Prime Minister House’s spokesman said on Thursday.
The spokesman said that the proposed names included former Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Justice (Retd) Hazar Khan Khoso and former State Bank Governor Dr Ishrat Hussain.
Sources said that the PM had also sent a message to Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan for consultation over the caretaker setup.
It pertinent to mention here that the opposition had proposed the names of Nasir Asalm Zahid, Justice (retd) Shakirullah Jan, and Rasool Buksh Palejo for the interim premier.
