Galle: Mushfiqur Rahim has become first Bangladesh batsman to score a double-century in Test cricket.
Scorecard Captain Rahim entered into history book and completed the feat in the post-lunch session on the fourth day of the first Test against Sri Lanka at the Galle International Stadium.
Rahim had to spend anxious 40 minutes in the pavilion before reaching the landmark. He was on 198 at lunch and was quick to get to 200 after the break. He reached there with a single off Nuwan Kulasekara in the 168th over of the innings. In the same over, Rahim was dismissed LBW by Kulasekara for exactly 200. He batted for 436 minutes and faced 321 balls. Rahim hit 22 fours and one six.
