Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday rejected the bail plea of Rao Shakeel, the former direction general Hajj, in the Hajj corruption case.
The IHC announced the verdict over Shakeel’s bail after his counsel concluded the arguments.
Earlier, Shakeel’s lawyer said that his client was arrest for last two years despite he did not become reason behind delay in the trail.
The counsel demanding bail for his client argued that Hamid Saeed Kazmi, the former federal minister for Hajj, had given bail for the same reason.
The Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) opposed the bail plea in the court.
Chaudhry Zulfiqar, the FIA’s prosecutor, said in the court that the trail had not been completed due to the delay tactics used by the accused.
Later, the court rejected the bail plea of Shakeel and adjourned the hearing into the case.
