Islamabad: Following the Supreme Court of Pakistan remarks during the of Abbas Town blast suo motu notice, the Sindh IG Police and DIG East have been removed by the home ministry from their post, reports say.
According to media reports, both the officers have been directed to report to the Establishment Division.
However, Sindh Police have said that they haven’t received any notification in this regard.
Earlier, during hearing of the case at Karachi registry of the Supreme Court, the bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry expressed anger over the performance of the police and the rangers and held both equally responsible of Karachi unrest.
“IG and others should have tendered resignations if they have any shame,” the CJ remarked.
