Peshawar: Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Wednesday denied any link with the killing of the local journalist Malik Mumtaz, affiliated with Geo News and said that they were ready to cooperate in the search of the killers.
Malik Mumtaz was gunned down in Miranshah, a town and administrative headquarters of the North Waziristan Agency of the country’s northwestern tribal region.
Talking to media from an undisclosed location, the TTP spokesman Ihsanullah Ihsan said that the militant was not behind the killing of the slain correspondent and offered his condolences for the family of the journalist.
“We salute the courage of Malik Mumtaz for unveiling truth infront of the people,” he said.
On the other hand, Pakistan Army has also offered condolences for the family of the the journalist and had denied any links in the killing.
