Karachi: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has laid into Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq for his statement regarding a new university in Hyderabad, and announced protests across Sindh.
Haq earlier said that he would let any new government university to be established in the Sindh’s second-largest city, Hyderabad, at any cost.
In a statement issued today, the Rabita (Coordination) Committee of the MQM severely criticised Haq’s statement what it called the beginning of Sindhi-Muhajir divide in the province.
The education minister had said that asking for a new university in Hyderabad would be a conspiracy against the Sindh University.
