Islamabad: Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the caretaker prime minister will be nominated in consultation with all the stakeholders.
Kaira said elections would be held on time under the supervision of a powerful Election Commission, APP reported.
Replying to a question, he said the Pakistan People’s Party government had introduced consensual democracy in the country’s politics and that all matters would be solved with the consensus of political parties.
Replying to another question, Kaira said that the Election Commission had full powers to ensure transparent elections.
He said the caretaker government would have no influence on the coming elections and the ECP would exercise full powers to conduct free and fair polls.
The minister said that assemblies would be dissolved by the middle of next month, after completion of its democratic tenure. Kaira said that all the stakeholders wanted free, fair and transparent elections in the country.
