Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) on Thursday strongly condemned the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) initiative to withdraw the Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance and restore the local bodies ordinance of 1979.
In a statement issued after a joint meeting of MQM coordination committee in Karachi and London, the committee said that the PPP has once again tried to increase differences between migrators (Mohajirs) and Sindhi people.
The committee further directed party workers to not disappoint from the situation and maintain unity within their lines.
They further said that restoration of the law made by the former dictator of the country, General Ziaul Haq, was against the article 140 of the constitution.
The MQM further said that they would use all tools against the government’s initiative adding that such brutal acts could not suppress the struggle of the party.
