Govt mulling over to end governor rule in Balochistan

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, President Asif Ali Zardari and Federal Law Minister Farooq H. Naek met in Islamabad and discussed removing governor rule in Balochistan.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Naek said that the government was trying to install the chief minister setup back in the province, insisting that a democratic provincial government was a must for the upcoming general election.

Answering a question about the army control of Balochistan, he said that the army chief was also in favour of a democratic government.

Of Supreme Court remarks that the federal government was responsible for the Quetta carnage that killed 87 people, Naek said the government would submit a reply in the court.
