Islamabad: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Admiral (retd) Fasih Bokhari on Tuesday once again submitted his reply in the contempt of court case in the Supreme Court of Pakistan after removing objections raised by the registrar of the apex court.
The letter was submitted by the NAB Chairman’s solicitor Naveed Rasool Mirza. Bokhari stated in the reply that he believes in the supremacy of the judiciary and he cannot even think about committing contempt of court.
He further recalled his sacrifices for the judiciary and said that he raised voice against the dictators’ actions of March 9, 2011 and November 3, 2011 against the superior judges.
He further said that he refused to obey the illegal order of the then Chief of Army Staff for a military takeover.
Bokhari further told the court that his letter written to the President Asif Ali Zardari was a secret communiqué and he didn’t know how it was made public.
The Chief Justice replied that how it was possible that a secret letter could be revealed adding that what would have happen if the people would came to know about the content of the letter?
On the CJP Iftikhar’s reply that the letter was issued by the NAB, Bokhari said that he had to issue the letter as the contents were broadcasted on the television screens and if he would have not issued the letter then the media could have broadcasted incorrect material.
