Rawalpindi: Pakistani soldier, Mohammad Ikhlaq, who was killed by the Indian forces after he crossed the Line of Control (LOC) mistakenly on Thursday night, was laid to rest in his native area of Kallar Sayyedan, a Tehsil of Pakistan’s Punjab province, on Saturday.
The funeral prayer of the slain army official was offered twice, first by the army officials at 11 am and later by the family, relatives and people of the area after the Zohar prayers.
Pakistan army officials on Friday night received the body of Ikhlaq which was later shifted to his hometown.
Pakistan government expressed their anger over the killing of the soldier and said that it was the violation of an agreement between the Pakistan-India governments.
The foreign office spokesman further said that Pakistan had returned several Indian soldiers after they crossed the border mistakenly.
