Mardan: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhua Ameer Haider Khan Hoti survived a suicide attack on Friday after a bomber blew himself up in front of the CM convoy in Mardan, a city of Pakistan’s KPK province.
Chief Minister’s Press Secretary confirmed to the media that Hoti was sound and safe after the blast and was shifted to an undisclosed location.
According to police, the security personnel of the chief minister’s convoy spotted a suspicious person near the convoy and just before the bomber could reach the car of Hoti, they opened fire on him which caused a blast.
Meanwhile, no causalities except of the bomber were reported and the law and order officials have launched a search operation in the nearby areas to find out if any of the accomplices of the bomber were hiding in the area.
Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and Awami National Party (ANP) leader Zahid Khan have condemned the blast and said that the militants cannot suppress the nation with their vicious attempts.
