Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry on Thursday said that Judiciary’s role is not to oppose the other two pillars of the state but to refrain them from illegally using their powers.
Addressing the full court meeting in the honour of Justice Tariq Pervez, the CJP Iftikhar said that new appointments should be made in the upper judiciary as fewer judges were not able to dispense justice on time.
“Today’s judiciary is the most independent judiciary in the history of the country,” he said.
