Islamabad: Pakistani government should negotiate with those Taliban militants who are willing to accept the law and Constitution of the country, agreed all political parties present on Thursday at the All Parties Conference (APC) called by the Awami national Party (ANP).
The APC, held in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, was attended by at least 27 political parties and lawyer organisations.
The host ANP, the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, (PML-N), the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), and the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI) were among the leading participants.
Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) boycotted the conference.
ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan, giving the key-note address, said his party called the conference to gather the nation against terrorism.
“Terrorism is not the problem of the present government only. The coming governments will also be facing it,” he observed.
