Karachi: At least three people have been killed and several others injured after a blast ripped-off in Sohrab Goth area of Karachi, a metropolitan of Pakistan.
Earlier, sources quoted police as saying that the explosive device, planted in a motorcycle, detonated outside a mosque, however they later contradicted their own statement and claimed the bomb actually went off near a drug dealers’ den.
“A banned outfit demanded extortion from the the den and warned off dire consequences if the demands were not met,” they said.
The bodies and injured have been shifted to a local hospital in the city while police and other law enforcement authorities have cordoned-off the area in order to avoid any second blast as it had happened in various occasions where miscreants had used first blast as a bobby trap against the security forces.
