Lahore: Richard Olson, US Ambassador to Pakistan said on Monday the United States wants to see strengthened democratic system in Pakistan and supports free and fair election.
General election in the country is expected to be held in May for which a caretaker setup has to be installed in March.
Speaking to media representatives in Lahore on his first visit to the city since assuming the charge, Olson said the United States is not in favour of or against any political party.
He said the States is a strong supporter of democracy and is hopeful of the upcoming elections in Pakistan.
Olson said he would meet leaders and workers of various political parties in the city.
