Lahore: Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) leader Dr. Tahirul Qadri has decided to move the Supreme Court of Pakistan for the reforms in Election Commission of Pakistan.
On December 27, the government which met the PAT leader in Lahore, rejected the Qadri’s demand to bring changes in the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The team of legal and constitutional experts was unanimous in their view that neither the Chief Election Commissioner nor any of its members could be removed from office by the discretion of the government.
According to sources, the PAT leader has completed the consultations with his party leaders and other close aides on the issue and a legal team would file an application in the apex court within two days.
