Karachi: A complete shutter down strike is being observed in Karachi, Nawabshah, Hyderabad and other parts of the province as the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) announced three-day mourning over the killing of its MPA Manzar Iman.
The markets are closed while traffic is thin on the streets.
The funeral of Manzar Imam will be held today after Friday prayers at Jinnah Ground after the Jumma prayer.
All Pakistan Private School Management Association has announced to shut the private schools in the metropolis. Karachi University (KU) papers have also been postponed due to prevailing situation in the city.
Sindh Traders’ Association has also appealed to the businessmen to close their business across the province today.
Hyderabad, the second largest city after Karachi in Sindh province, was similarly shut down and people burnt tyres to protest against Imam’s killing.
Imam along with his three bodyguards was gunned in Karachi’s Orangi Town area when he was going to his office in his car on Thursday.
