Charsadda: A remote-controlled blast targeted a convoy of Awami National Party (ANP) leader and Member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Basheer Khan Umarzai in Charsadda, about 30 kilometres northeast of provincial capital Peshawar.
Hospital sources said twelve people, including former Tehsil Naib Nazim Zafarullah Khan and three policemen, were injured in the blast at Harichand road.
Police said Umarzai and his son were also injured in the blast.
Umarzai was elected on the ruling Awami National Party’s ticket from PF-19 (Charsadda-III).
