Karachi: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has decided not to participate in Tahir-ul-Qadri’s long march.
After a party meeting on Friday, MQM Leader Farooq Sattar told reporters that the MQM would not participate in the long march.
He said that the decision has been taken in the backdrop of the deteriorating security situation in the country and it is dangerous to put on stake the lives of millions of people.
However, he added that the party will continue to support the ideology of Tahirul Qadri.
He said that the decision had been conveyed to Tahirul Qadri. “We are in contact with Tahir-ul-Qadri and we will remain in contact with him,” he said.
