Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on accepted Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) review petition over delimitations in Karachi for hearing.
A five-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry heard the case pertaining delimitations in Karachi.
During the hearing, the bench accepted the MQM’s review petition for hearing after it removed the objections over the plea.
Farogh Naseem, the counsel of the MQM, said that they had no objection over October 6, 2012 order of the Supreme Court. “We have only challenged the implementations of the order,” he told reporters outside the court building.
Naseem said that delimitation was not possible without census and added that census held in Pakistan after an every decade. “The census began in 2008 has not been completed yet.”
