New Delhi: Indian foreign ministry on Wednesday summoned Pakistan High Commissioner to India Salman Bashir to record protest against alleged killing of soldiers by Pakistani troops on Line of Control (LoC).
According to Indian media, Bashir will meet the officials in the ministry where the country will lodge ‘strong protest’ over the incident.
Indian army officials claimed that Pakistani soldiers crossed the cease-fire line in the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir on Tuesday and attacked an army patrol, killing two Indian soldiers before retreating back into Pakistani-controlled territory.
A Pakistan army spokesman has denied that Pakistani soldiers had been involved in an unprovoked shooting.
A statement from the Pakistani military said the Indian accusation “looks like Indian propaganda” to divert attention after the Sunday incident, in which Pakistan said Indian soldiers raided a Pakistani post and killed one soldier.
