Lahore: Patients were suffering badly as Out Patient Departments (OPDs) of all government hospitals were closed due to the Young Doctors Association (YDA) Punjab strike on Friday across Punjab, said sources.
YDA continued to boycott government hospitals across the province including Lahore on the third day following the arrest of several doctors in Gujranwala.
The doctors have boycotted indoor departments, OPDs and operation theatres, however, emergencies are still functional.
Patients from remote areas had to go back hopelessly, sources added.
According to sources Punjab health ministry suspended leaves of medical superintendents, administrative, adhoc and contractual doctors, assigning them the duties of doctors on strike.
