Gujranwala: After drinking ‘Tyno’ cough syrup on Thursday at least seven people died, sources said.
Sources said that seven people were brought to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in faint condition but none of them could survive.
According to their family members they drank ‘Tyno’ named cough syrup and then fainted, sources added.
Sources further said that no case was registered neither any investigation was done in that regards. The hospital handed over dead bodies to the affected families without performing post mortem.
The hospital administration informed Punjab health department about the incident. Police arrested owner of the medical store who sold the syrup to the victims, said sources.
At least 11 persons expired last month and many turned into serious condition after drinking the poisonous cough syrup in Lahore.
