Doha: Malaysia beat India 5-3 in the 2012 Asian Hockey Champions Trophy at Doha‚ Qatar on Wednesday, but failed to qualify for the final.
Pakistan and India will face each other in the final tomorrow (December 27, 2012).
It was India’s first defeat as they had been unbeaten in their first four matches. They beat China 4-0 in their first match of the tournament. They beat Japan 3-1 in their second match before giving a 11-0 humiliating defeat to minnows Oman.
India have a wonderful track record in international hockey, having won eight Olympic gold medals, two Asian Games gold medals, two Asia Cup titles and a World Cup trophy in 1975.
