Islamabad: Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood has been appointed the governor of Punjab after the resignation of Latif Khosa from the position.
Earlier, Latif Khosa tendered his resignation to President Asif Ali Zardari at a meeting in the federal capital on Saturday. On this occasion, Zardari acknowledged the services and commitment of the outgoing governor during his tenure.
The president also directed Minister for Law, Farooq H. Naek on the occasion to finalize the process to appoint a new governor.

Meanwhile, PTI chairman Imran Khan has claimed that Makhdoom Mehmood was appointed to ‘offer opposition to PTI leader Jahangir Tarin’.
