London: The Scotland Yard has made progress in the Imran Farooq murder case, regarded as ‘important development’ in a news report.
It said that the team raided on a business address in the Edgware on a tip off and conducted 10-hour search there. The investigation team also had a search warrant, but no arrest from the scene took place.
Meanwhile, spokesman of London police said they are determined to nab the culprits behind the murder of the political leader.
Dr Imran Farooq was found murdered near his residence in north London on September 16, 2010. He was found with multiple stab wounds and head injuries.
Metropolitan Police Service Counter Terrorism Command detectives investigating the murder believe that Imran was building his independent political profile in the months before he was killed.
The investigators said that the murderers didn’t want Imran Farooq to activate in politics.
The police said that the MQM leader had set up a new page on social networking site Facebook two months before his murder and several people had contacts with him.
