London: In what appeared to be a dramatic twist in the murder case of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s assassinated leader Imran Farooq, London’s Metropolitan police have said that he has plans to start new political career.
On the occasion of Mr Farooq’s second death anniversary on Friday, the Scotland Yard said that the London-based MQM leader had plans to start a new political career in independent capacity and a number of people were informed about his political determinations.
The investigators said that the murderers didn’t want Imran Farooq to activate in politics.
The police said that the MQM leader had set up a new page on social networking site Facebook two months before his murder and several people had contacts with him.
The Metropolitan Police also made a latest appeal to people those who had information about the murder against the prize money of 20,000 pounds.
Imran Farooq was stabbed to death out side his residence while returning from his workplace in September 2010.
His widow had also made a public appeal, requesting people to help police investigate the murder of his husband, during a press conference.
