Washington: The United States (US) magazine, Forbes, on Monday issued a list of 71 most powerful people of the world placing Pakistan’s spy chief Lieutenant-General Zaheer ul-Islam at 52. He is the only spy chief placed in the list of the US magazine.
According to Forbes, the new head of Pakistan’s notorious intelligence service took command in March. The ISI has played both sides in the war on terror and as U.S. troops draw out of Afghanistan, will be hugely influential in determining the region’s future.
The annual list was crafted on factors ranging from wealth to global influence and said that these were the world’s 71 most-powerful people on the globe.
To create the rankings, Forbes editors graded candidates on four criteria for power and averaged the four grades:
– Power over many people
– Control over financial and other valuable resources
– Power in multiple spheres or arenas
– Active use of power
