London: Facebook has decided to change its terminology for profile “subscriptions” to “follows”.
The move changes Facebook’s terminology to the same one made famous by its rival Twitter.
The terminology is also being used by many other social networks, including Facebook-owned Instagram.
Currently, the Facebook users can allow people they are not friends with to “subscribe” to their Facebook profile, but in the future, that feature will be referred to as “follow” instead.
“Today we are updating the term “Subscribe” to become “Follow” across the site, as we found it is a term that resonates better with people using the service,” Latimes quoted Facebook’s spokesman .
The company said the change will roll out slowly to all users over the coming weeks.
