Islamabad: United States (US) Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson on Thursday called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and discussed issues relating to the Pak-US ties and the current situation in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister expressed his concern over the drone attacks and said that the US should use alternative ways to curb militancy.
“Drone attacks are angering people in Pakistan and instead of eliminating extremist views it has become the main cause of increased militancy in the country,” he added.
The ambassador assured that he would convey the prime minister’s message to the US administration.
The PM Ashraf further said that the country would continue to fight terrorism with the support of United States.
