Karachi: Star studded Karachi Dolphins won their fourth group match of ongoing Faysal Bank Twenty20 cup against Lahore Eagles on Tuesday as they thrashed them by 3 wickets with 8 balls remaining.
The match was played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore and broadcasted live on PTV Sports.
Lahore Lions who were compelled to bat first set a small target of 113 runs at the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs.
Middle order batsman Azhar Ali who scored 24 and tail-ender Saad Nasim with his cameo of 28 runs, were the only two batsmen who reach in the twenties.
In reply, Dolphins were off with a nervy start, Khurram Manzoor failing out again in the tournament though Shahzaib Hasan and Fawad Alam cruised the team nearer the victory.
Tail-enders Tanvir Ahmed and Anwar Ali led the team to eventual victory scoring swift 15 and 14 of only 10 and 5 deliveries.
Atif Maqbool and Shahzaib Hasan of Karachi Dolphins were declared joint players of the match for their brilliant bowling and batting performances.
The Faysal Twenty 20 Cup featuring 14 regional teams commenced at the provincial capital on Dec 1 and will run until 9th of the month.
