Karachi: Some unidentified armed men gunned down Maulana Mohammad Ismail while he was passing from Al Asif Square on Monday morning in his car.
According to local police, the deceased was the teacher at Madrassah Ahsan-ul-Uloom. His body has been shifted to local hospital for post medico-legal formalities.
The police have lodged First Investigation Report (FIR) against unknown miscreants, investigations are underway.
Meanwhile, angry protesters staged a violent protest at Abul Asfahani road against the killing of religious cleric. Traffic has been blocked. Further details are awaited.
In other incidents that occurred in Karachi from morning till now around seven persons have been killed in the metropolitan city.
An incharge of R-police check post, located in Bilal Colony, Korangi, sub-inspector Hidayat ullah Abbasi was killed in firing by unknown assailants.
 Meanwhile, two dead bodies were also recovered in a gunny bag from Sohrab Goth, volatile area of the city.
