Lahore: Former cricket great Inzamam ul Haq has criticized former Aussie leg spinner Shane Warne over his critical remarks against Pakistani legend umpire Aleem Dar.
Few days back, Shane Warne passed harsh comments on Aleem Dar, criticizing him for poor umpiring during second Test match between India and England in Mumbai.
In an interview to Pakistani media channel, Inzamam said, “I feel Warne has targeted Aleem Dar just to gain cheap publicity and nothing more.”
“Warne tried to please the Indians,”
Former hard-hitting batsman urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to take strict action against the Aussie spinner. “I have never seen a better umpire than Aleem Dar in my entire cricket career,” Inzamam insisted.
Inzamam also looked a bit uneasy over Indian skipper Dhoni’s remarks against Dar saying, “I think it would be best for Dhoni to try to convince his board to use the Umpires Decision Review System (DRS) instead of criticising the umpires”.
