Rawalpindi: Five hospital employees were suspended on Tuesday after being held responsible for rat biting incident.
Two newborns were severely bitten by hungry rats on Monday. The babies were just a day old when they were bitten at the gynecology ward of Rawalpindi’s Holy Family hospital. The rats bit the babies on the lips, cheek, nose and fingers.
One of them is alive and in stable condition. Other one, according to MS, was not dead due to rat biting but already born dead.
On Tuesday, the hospital administration suspended two nurses, two sanitary workers and a nanny.
The relatives of the babies protested against the negligence of the hospital administration and also alleged the hospital staff and doctors of misbehave and rude attitude.
