Faisalabad: The Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) and the Pakistan Muslim League -Quaid (PML-Q) have agreed on seat adjustment for the coming general elections in Pakistan.
PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said in a joint press conference in Faisalabad that no party could solve the country’s problems alone.
“We will work together for the benefit of Pakistan,” he said.
The leadership of both the parties said that the success of their alliance was critical for the betterment of peace and stability in Pakistan.
SIC leader Sahibzada Fazal Karim said that they are in agreement with the PML-Q on seat adjustment and that they would hold talks with other parties as well.
Haji Haneef Syed, SIC general secretary, said that the seat adjustment was for the implementation of a system put forward by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
“Both the parties agree that Pakistan is an Islamic Republic. Pakistan is not a secular state.”
