Jerusalem: An “apparent explosion” has rocked a bus in Tel Aviv main street of Shaul Hamelekh Blvd on Wednesday.
Initial reports differ about the casualties.
At least ten people were injured and are being evacuated to hospitals, an Israeli website reported.
But other reports suggest ten people were killed in the attack.
A state of emergency is declared at the Israeli defense ministry and high command which are located opposite the bus.
According to witnesses, a man placed a package on the bus and left, which means he is still at large. Police are searching the streets around the attack.
“There are about 10 people wounded of whom three are in serious condition,” emergency services spokesman Zaki Heller told public radio, according to AFP.
“There was an apparent explosion on a bus in Shaul HaMelech Street in Tel Aviv. The background and circumstances are not clear yet,” police spokeswoman Luba Samri said.
